The Who, The How, and The Why.

Hello, my name is Nikita Angeline. I am a self taught artist of 20+ years on and off and most of my inspiration comes from the beautiful landscape around me; the Pacific Northwest. Since I could pick up a pencil, I’ve been drawing what I wanted to see on paper, usually these surreal subjects, landscapes, and scenes in my head that can’t be explained, better to be shown. My art has evolved and changed and developed over the years, I never stick to one style too long and am always trying new things. My favorite mediums are pencil, pen, colored pencil, and alcohol markers.

Digital art has always been accessible to me but never something I leaned into. I use it minimally and do what I can through tool and paper as much as possible before uploading and digitizing my work. All of my products are done this way, they’re 100% me from start to finish. My stickers start as rough sketches, I then ink over them with liner pens, sometimes I go further and color them on the page before scanning and uploading them to Inkscape or Sketchbook Pro. Digital programs are basically just a finer polishing tool before everything is printed and cut. I hope with every product my customers receive, the handmade feeling of my work is prominent and appreciated.

Making a living from my art was always something I wanted to achieve and as much as those around me appreciated and encouraged my art, making that my life was highly discouraged. Through the years, the idea was pushed away and my consistency faltered because other priorities lead the way. I spent hours at menial jobs with images swarming my mind, and that’s as far as it got for longer than I’m proud of. Finally, through carving the right path and surrounding myself with the right people, my dream can become more of a reality than I’ve ever seen before and I’m running with it. When you view my online gallery, purchase my products, interact with my social media posts, you’re not just supporting a one-person small business, you’re fueling a dream of mine that has been a lifetime in the making. Something I genuinely never thought was possible.
